This report is the second edition of the study of the propylene oxide market in the world, the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and other countries of the post-Soviet space.
The purpose of the study is to analyze the propylene oxide market in Russia, the EAEU countries (which, in addition to Russia, include Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan), as well as the world market for this product.
The object of the study is propylene oxide, which is an organic compound with the chemical formula C3H6O.
This work is a desk study. The following sources of information were used: data from the statistical committees of the EAEU countries (including Rosstat, the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus, the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan); international databases of the UN (UNdata), World Bank, Eurostat; international and European trade data (UN Comtrade, Trade Map); the Federal Customs Service of Russia (until 2022); Unified Information System in the Sphere of Procurement; railway transportation statistics; SBIS databases; foreign specialized companies; annual and quarterly reports of issuers of securities; industry and regional press, conference materials, websites of enterprises-producers and consumers of the studied products; scientific and technical literature (elibrary, etc.), FIPS patent database; InfoMine database, etc.
Chronological framework of the study: 2014-2024; forecast - 2025-2030.
Geography of the study: Russia - a comprehensive detailed analysis of the market; the world and the EAEU countries - a general retrospective analysis of the market.
The report consists of 7 parts, contains 81 pages, including 24 figures, 32 tables and 3 appendices.
The first chapter is devoted to the global propylene oxide market. The section provides data on capacities, international trade in this product and its sales prices, consumption and development prospects of the global propylene oxide market.
The second chapter presents information on the technologies used in the industry for the production of propylene oxide, the capacity for the production of this product in Russia, and the main types of raw materials for its production.
The third chapter is devoted to the analysis of propylene oxide production in the EAEU and the post-Soviet space. It presents the requirements for the quality of the manufactured products, traces the dynamics of their production and provides data on production volumes in 2014-2024, describes the leading manufacturers of the product and their current status.
The fourth chapter analyzes foreign trade operations with propylene oxide in Russia and the EAEU countries in the period 2014-2024. Data on the volumes of export and import of the studied products are provided, the geographical structure of supplies is presented, information on individual exporters and importers of propylene oxide is analyzed.
The fifth chapter provides information on the cost of propylene oxide on the domestic market of Russia, and also analyzes data on changes in export-import prices for the product in 2014-2024.
The sixth chapter is devoted to the consumption of propylene oxide in Russia. This section provides a balance of production and consumption of the studied products, presents the structure of its application in Russia, considers the main areas of use of propylene oxide, and describes the largest enterprises-consumers of this product.
The seventh, final chapter is devoted to the forecast of production and consumption of propylene oxide in Russia for the period up to 2030.
The appendices provide contact information on propylene oxide manufacturers in Russia, as well as the largest Russian consumers of this product.
