    This review is the seventh edition of the market research on hydrochloric acid (synthetic and exhaust gas) in Russia and the countries of the EAEU (CIS).

    Market monitoring has been carried out since 2000.

    The purpose of the study is to analyze the Russian hydrochloric acid market.

    The object of study is hydrochloric acid, both synthetic and gas-free.

    The work presented is a desk research. Data from the statistical committees of the EAEU countries (including Rosstat, the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus, the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan) were used as sources of information; UN international databases (UNdata), World Bank, Eurostat; international and European trade data (UN Comtrade, Trade Map); Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation (until 2022); railway transport statistics; VLSI databases; annual and quarterly reports of securities issuers; industry and regional press, conference materials, Internet sites of manufacturing enterprises and consumers of the products under study; scientific and technical literature (elibrary, etc.), FIPS patent database; InfoMine database, etc.

    A distinctive feature of this study is the division of hydrochloric acid by production method (synthetic and waste) and a detailed study of each type of this chemical, in addition, the in-plant consumption of hydrochloric acid was studied in detail.

    Chronological scope of the study: 1997-2023; forecast – 2024-2030

    Geography of the study: Russian Federation – comprehensive detailed market analysis, other EAEU countries – brief retrospective analysis.

    The review consists of 6 chapters, contains 100 pages, including 50 tables, 33 figures and an appendix.

    The first chapter of the report provides information about the raw materials necessary for the production of hydrochloric acid and its characteristics. This chapter also discusses in detail the technology for the production of hydrochloric acid. In addition, data is provided on the main suppliers of raw materials, directions and volumes of supplies.

    The second chapter of the report is devoted to the production of hydrochloric acid (divided into synthetic and waste acid) in the EAEU countries. This section of the report provides statistical and estimated data on the volume of hydrochloric acid production in the CIS in 1997-2023. In addition, the quality indicators of the resulting products are given. It also provides characteristics of the largest acid producers.

    The third chapter of the report provides data on foreign trade transactions with hydrochloric acid in Russia and the EAEU countries (supply volumes, main suppliers and consumers of hydrochloric acid) in 1997-2023.

    The fourth chapter provides information on the price level on the domestic Russian market, and also analyzes data on changes in export-import prices for products in Russia.

    The fifth chapter of the report examines the consumption of hydrochloric acid in Russia. This section shows the balance of production and consumption of these products, the sectoral structure of consumption in Russia, the main consumers are listed, and the current state and prospects for the development of the largest consumption sectors are described.

    The sixth chapter of the report provides a forecast for the development of the Russian hydrochloric acid market for the period until 2030.

    The appendix provides the addresses and contact information of enterprises producing hydrochloric acid in the EAEU countries.

    Target audience of the study:

    - hydrochloric acid market participants – producers, consumers, traders;

    - potential investors.

    The proposed study purports to be a reference guide for marketing services and specialists working in the hydrochloric acid market.
