    This report is the fifth edition of the study of the phenol market in Russia and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) countries.

    The purpose of the study is to analyze the phenol market in Russia, the EAEU countries (which, in addition to the Russian Federation, include the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic), as well as the world market for this product.

    The object of the study is phenol (hydroxybenzene), which is an organic compound of the aromatic series with the chemical formula C6H5OH.

    This work is a desk study. The following sources of information were used: data from the statistical committees of the EAEU countries (including Rosstat, the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus, the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan); international UN databases (UNdata), World Bank, Eurostat; international and European trade data (UN Comtrade, Trade Map); the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation (until 2022); the Unified Information System in the Sphere of Procurement; railway transportation statistics; the SBIS database; foreign specialized companies; annual and quarterly reports of issuers of securities; industry and regional press, conference materials, websites of enterprises-producers and consumers of the studied products; scientific and technical literature (elibrary, etc.), FIPS patent database; InfoMine database, etc.

    Chronological framework of the study: 2019-2024; forecast - 2025-2032.

    Geography of the study: countries of the Eurasian Economic Union, including the Russian Federation, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia.

    The report consists of 7 parts, contains 101 pages, including 28 figures, 41 tables and 2 appendices.

    The first chapter is devoted to the global phenol market. The section provides data on capacities, international trade in this product and its sales prices, consumption and development prospects of the global market for the products in question.

    The second chapter provides information on the technologies used in the industry to produce phenol, the production capacity of this product in the EAEU countries, and the main types of raw materials for its production (propylene, benzene).

    The third chapter is devoted to the analysis of phenol production in the EAEU. It presents the requirements for the quality of manufactured products, traces the dynamics of their production and provides data on production volumes in 2019-2024, describes the leading manufacturers of the product in the Eurasian Economic Union and their current status.

    The fourth chapter analyzes foreign trade operations with phenol in Russia and the EAEU countries in the period 2019-2024. Data on the volumes of exports and imports of the studied products are provided, the geographical structure of supplies is presented, information on individual exporters and importers of phenol is analyzed.

    The fifth chapter provides information on the price level of phenol on the domestic market of the Russian Federation, and also analyzes data on changes in export-import prices for the product in 2019-2024.

    The sixth chapter is devoted to the consumption of phenol in Russia and other EAEU countries. This section provides a balance of production and consumption of the studied products, presents the structure of their application in the Russian Federation, considers the main areas of phenol use, and describes the largest enterprises-consumers of this product.

    The seventh, final chapter is devoted to the forecast of phenol production and consumption in Russia for the period up to 2032.

    The appendices provide contact information on phenol producers in the EAEU countries, as well as the largest Russian consumers of this product, processing third-party products.

    Target audience of the study:

    – participants in the phenol market and raw materials for the production of this type of product;

    – potential investors.

    The proposed study claims to be a reference guide for marketing departments and management decision-makers working in the chemical products market.
