This report is the seventh edition of the study of the market for chrysotile asbestos and chrysotile cement products in Russia and the CIS countries.

The market has been monitored since June 2004.

The purpose of the study is to analyze the world, Russian and CIS markets for chrysotile asbestos, as well as the chains of its redistribution in the asbestos-cement industry.

The object of the study is chrysotile asbestos and products of its further consumption chains (slate, chrysotile cement sheets, pipes and couplings).

The work is a desk study. As sources of information, data from Rosstat, the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation, railway transportation statistics, the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Statistics, the State Customs Service of Ukraine were used; materials of the US Geological Survey (USGS), data from UNdata, industry and regional press, annual and quarterly reports of securities issuers, as well as websites of asbestos and asbestos-cement products manufacturers were used.

Timeline of the study: 1997-2022; forecast - 2023-2030

Research geography: Russian Federation, Republic of Kazakhstan, Ukraine - comprehensive detailed market analysis; Armenia, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan - general retrospective analysis of the market; the rest of the world - general information about the dynamics and characteristics of the market.

The report consists of 9 parts, contains 170 pages, including 41 figures, 59 tables and 3 appendices.

The first chapter of the report gives a brief description of the global asbestos market (reserves, extraction, production, producing countries, prices).

The second chapter of the report provides information about the mineral resource base of chrysotile-asbestos in the CIS countries, the structure of reserves and the characteristics of the main deposits. The deposits of chrysotile asbestos in the CIS countries and their reserves are described, as well as a map of the location of the largest deposits of chrysotile asbestos in the CIS.

The third chapter of the report is devoted to the mining and production of chrysotile asbestos in the CIS countries. In addition, the requirements for the quality of asbestos of various grades are given here and the technologies for the production of chrysotile asbestos are described.

The fourth chapter of the report describes the current state of the main enterprises producing chrysotile asbestos in the CIS countries, presents the quantitative and qualitative characteristics of products manufactured at each enterprise.

The fifth chapter of the report provides data on foreign trade operations with chrysotile-asbestos in the Russian Federation (for the period 1997-2022), in Ukraine (2003-2021) and in Kazakhstan (1995-2022).

The sixth chapter is devoted to a review of prices for Russian chrysotile-asbestos in 1998-2022; in addition to domestic prices, it contains prices for asbestos-containing Russian-made products on the foreign market.

The seventh chapter of the report examines the consumption of chrysotile asbestos in Russia. This section presents the balance of production and consumption of these products, the sectoral structure of consumption, the main consumers, as well as the current state and development prospects of the largest consumer enterprises.

The eighth chapter of the report examines the consumption of chrysotile asbestos in Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Belarus, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.

The ninth chapter of the report provides a forecast for the development of the Russian chrysotile asbestos market for the period up to 2030.

The appendices contain address and contact information of the main enterprises producing and consuming chrysotile asbestos in Russia and the CIS countries.

    Target audience of the study:

    - participants in the chrysotile asbestos market and its further consumption chains (ACC) - producers, consumers, traders;

    - potential investors.

The proposed study claims to be a reference tool for marketing services and management decision-makers working in the market of chrysotile-asbestos and chrysotile-cement products.
