This report is the first edition of a study of the urea-ammonia mixture (UAN) market in the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
The purpose of the study is to analyze the UAN market in Russia, the EAEU countries (which, in addition to the Russian Federation, include the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic), as well as the world market.
The object of the study is a carbamide-ammonia mixture (UAN). However, the study does not consider sulfur-containing products (UAN with sulfur), which include 23-26% N and 2-4% S.
This work is a desk study. As sources of information, data from the statistical committees of the EAEU countries (including Rosstat, the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus, the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan), the Federal Customs Service (FCS) of the Russian Federation, industry and regional press, annual and quarterly reports of issuers of securities, VLSI, websites of manufacturing enterprises and consumers of carbamide-ammonia mixture. The UN Comtrade and Trade Map data were also involved; Infomine database was used.
Chronological scope of the study: 2018-2022; forecast - 2023-2030
Research geography: countries of the Eurasian Economic Union, including the Russian Federation, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia.
The report consists of 7 parts, contains 72 pages, including 21 figures, 32 tables and 2 appendices.
The first chapter is devoted to the world market of carbamide-ammonia mixture. The section provides data on capacities, international trade of UAN and its selling prices, consumption and prospects for the development of the global market for the product category in question.
The second chapter provides information on the UAN production technology used in industry, the capacities for the production of this type of product in the EAEU countries, as well as the main types of raw materials for its production (ammonium nitrate and urea).
The third chapter is devoted to the analysis of the production of carbamide-ammonia mixture. It presents the requirements for the quality of manufactured products, traces the dynamics of its production and provides data on production volumes in 2018-2022, describes the leading manufacturers and their current state, and also highlights projects to organize the release of the product.
The fourth chapter analyzes foreign trade operations with CAS Russia, Belarus and other EAEU countries in the period 2018-2022. Data on the volumes of exports and imports of the products under study are given, the geographical structure of deliveries is presented, information on individual exporters of the product and its importers is analyzed.
The fifth chapter provides information on the level of prices for UAN in the domestic market of the Russian Federation, and also analyzes data on changes in export-import prices for the product in 2018-2022.
The sixth chapter is devoted to the consumption of carbamide-ammonia mixture in Russia and other countries of the EAEU. This section presents the balance of production and consumption of the product under study, assesses the geographical structure of its supply to the domestic market of the Russian Federation, presents the main suppliers and describes the distribution networks formed by them, through which fertilizers are sold to domestic buyers.
The seventh and final chapter is devoted to the forecast for the consumption of carbamide-ammonia mixture in the Russian Federation for the period up to 2030.
The appendices contain contact information on the main UAN manufacturers in the EAEU countries, as well as the sales and distribution structures of the largest Russian companies selling this type of product.
