This report is the first edition of the study of the polymethyl methacrylate (poly(methyl-2-methylpropenoate), PMMA) market in the Russian Federation.
The purpose of the study is to analyze the current state and development prospects of the polymethyl methacrylate market in Russia.
The object of the study is polymethyl methacrylate in both primary forms (including granulated product) and PMMA products (plates, sheets, film, strips, tapes, etc.), including composite materials based on polymethyl methacrylate.
This work is a desk study. The following sources of information were used: data from statistical committees of the EAEU countries (including Rosstat, the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus, the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan); international UN databases (UNdata), World Bank, Eurostat; international and European trade data (UN Comtrade, Trade Map); the Federal Customs Service of Russia (until 2022); the Unified Information System in the Sphere of Procurement; railway transportation statistics; SBIS database; foreign specialized companies; annual and quarterly reports of securities issuers; industry and regional press, conference materials, websites of enterprises-producers and consumers of the studied products; scientific and technical literature (elibrary, etc.), FIPS patent database; InfoMine database, etc.
Chronological framework of the study: 2018-2022; forecast - 2023-2030.
Geography of the study: Russian Federation.
The report consists of 6 parts, contains 101 pages, including 15 figures, 48 tables and 2 appendices.
The first chapter presents information on the technology used in the industry for the production of polymethyl methacrylate, the capacity for the production of this type of product in Russia, as well as the main raw materials used for its production.
The second chapter is devoted to the analysis of the production of polymethyl methacrylate. It presents the requirements for the quality of manufactured products, tracks the dynamics of their production and provides data on production volumes in 2018-2022, describes the manufacturers of this type of product and their current status, and analyzes the prospects for creating new capacities for the production of PMMA in the Russian Federation.
The third chapter analyzes foreign trade operations with polymethyl methacrylate by Russia in the period 2018-2022 and the first half of 2023. Data on the volumes of exports and imports of the studied products are disclosed, the geographic and product structure of their supplies is presented, information on individual exporters and importers of PMMA is provided.
The fourth chapter provides information on the level of prices for polymethyl methacrylate on the domestic market of the Russian Federation, and also analyzes data on changes in export-import prices for products in 2018-2022 and the first half of 2023.
The fifth chapter is devoted to the consumption of polymethyl methacrylate in Russia. This section presents the production-consumption balance of the studied product category, assesses the industry structure of its application, describes the main areas of use and the largest consumers of PMMA.
The sixth and final chapter is devoted to the forecast of polymethyl methacrylate consumption in the Russian Federation for the period up to 2030.
The appendices provide contact information on Russian manufacturers of polymethyl methacrylate and its largest importers.
The target audience of the study:
– participants in the market of polymethyl methacrylate and its processed products (manufacturers, consumers, traders);
– potential investors.
The proposed study claims to be a reference guide for marketing departments and decision-makers working in the market of polymethyl methacrylate, acrylic polymers and other types of chemical products.
