This report is the second edition of a study of the formaldehyde market globally and in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) countries.
The objective of the study is to analyze the formaldehyde market in Russia, the EAEU countries (which, in addition to Russia, include Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan), and the global market for this product.
The object of the study is formaldehyde, an organic compound belonging to the aliphatic aldehydes (formaldehyde, CH2O).
This work is a desk study. The following sources of information were used: data from statistical committees of the EAEU countries (including Rosstat, the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus, the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan); international databases of the UN (UNdata), World Bank, Eurostat; international and European trade data (UN Comtrade, Trade Map); the Unified Information System in Procurement; rail transportation statistics; the SBIS database; foreign specialized companies; annual and quarterly reports of securities issuers; Industry and regional press, conference materials, websites of companies manufacturing and consuming the products under study; scientific and technical literature (e.g., elibrary), the Federal Institute of Industrial Property (FIPS) patent database; the InfoMine database, etc.
Research timeframe: 2015-2025; forecast: 2026-2030.
Research geography: Russia – comprehensive, detailed market analysis; global and EAEU countries – general retrospective market analysis.
The report consists of 7 parts and contains 140 pages, including 33 figures, 41 tables, and 2 appendices.
Chapter one is devoted to the global formaldehyde market. This section presents data on capacity, international trade in this product, its selling prices, consumption, and the development prospects of the global formaldehyde market.
Chapter two presents information on industrial formaldehyde production technologies, production capacity in the EAEU, and the main types of raw materials used for its production.
Chapter three analyzes formaldehyde (formalin) production in Russia. It presents product quality requirements, traces production dynamics, and provides data on production volumes from 2015 to 2025. Leading manufacturers and their current status are described.

Chapter five presents information on the cost of formaldehyde on the Russian domestic market and analyzes data on changes in export and import prices for the product in Russia from 2015 to 2025.
Chapter six is devoted to formaldehyde consumption in Russia. This section presents the production and consumption balance of the studied products, presents their application structure in Russia, examines the main areas of formaldehyde use, and describes the largest enterprise consumers of this product.
The seventh and final chapter is devoted to the forecast for formaldehyde production and consumption in Russia through 2030.
The appendices provide contact information for Russian formaldehyde producers, as well as the largest consumers of this product who process third-party products.
