This report is the third edition of a study of the global ethylene market and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) countries.
The objective of the study is to analyze the ethylene market in Russia, the EAEU countries (which, in addition to Russia, include Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan), and the global market for this product.
The object of the study is ethylene, an organic heterocyclic compound with the chemical formula C2H4.
This work is a desk study. The sources of information used were data from the statistical committees of the EAEU countries (including Rosstat, the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus, the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan); international databases of the UN (UNdata), World Bank, and Eurostat; international and European trade data (UN Comtrade, Trade Map); the Unified Information System in Procurement; rail transportation statistics; the SBIS database; foreign specialized companies; annual and quarterly reports of securities issuers; Industry and regional press, conference materials, websites of companies producing and consuming the products under study; scientific and technical literature (e.g., elibrary), the Federal Institute of Industrial Property (FIPS) patent database; the InfoMine database, etc.
Research timeframe: 2015-2025; 2026 – assessment, forecast; 2027-2035.
Research geography: Russia – comprehensive, detailed market analysis; global and EAEU countries – general retrospective market analysis.
The report consists of 7 parts and contains 126 pages, including 43 figures, 29 tables, and 3 appendices.
The first chapter is devoted to the global ethylene market. This section presents data on capacity, international trade in this product, sales prices, consumption, and development prospects for the global ethylene market.
Chapter two presents information on the industrial technologies used to produce ethylene, production capacity in Russia, and the main raw materials used for its production.
Chapter three analyzes ethylene production in Russia and other EAEU countries. It presents product quality requirements, traces production dynamics, and provides data on production volumes from 2015 to 2025. It also estimates production in 2026 by enterprise, and describes the leading ethylene producers and their current status.
Chapter four analyzes foreign trade transactions with ethylene in Russia and the EAEU countries from 2015 to 2025. It presents data on export and import volumes of the products under study, presents the geographic structure of supplies, and analyzes information on individual ethylene exporters and importers. Chapter five presents information on the price of ethylene on the domestic Russian market and analyzes data on changes in export and import prices for the product from 2015 to 2025.
Chapter six is devoted to ethylene consumption in Russia. This section presents the production and consumption balance of the studied product, presents its application structure in Russia, examines the main areas of ethylene use, and describes the largest enterprise consumers of this product.
The seventh and final chapter is devoted to the forecast for ethylene production and consumption in Russia through 2035.
The appendices present the main characteristics of the Russian ethylene market from 1999 to 2014, and provide contact information for Russian ethylene producers, as well as the largest consumers of this product who process third-party products.
