This report is the fourteenth reprint of the study of the activated carbon market in the Russian Federation and the EAEU.
The purpose of the study is to analyze the current state of the activated carbon market in the EAEU and forecast its development for the period up to 2030.
The object of the study is activated carbon.
The chronological framework of the study: 2001-2024, 2025-2030 - forecast.
Geography of the study: Russia - a comprehensive detailed analysis of the market, other EAEU countries - a general retrospective analysis of the market, the world market - a brief description.
The difference between this work and the studies currently presented on the Russian market is a wider geographical and time frame - the market of not only Russia, but also the EAEU countries was studied in the period from 2001 to 2024.
It should be noted that currently not all manufacturers of activated carbon in Russia provide reports on the production volumes of their products to the Federal State Statistics Service of the Russian Federation (Rosstat). A number of marketing studies devoted to the activated carbon market study consider only official statistics data. This report provides a more accurate assessment of the current situation in the activated carbon market, as it also provides information on enterprises that do not submit reports to the Federal State Statistics Service of the Russian Federation.
In addition, the report provides detailed data on the quality characteristics of activated carbons produced by Russian manufacturers.
This report also contains a brief description of the world activated carbon market - data on the volumes of production and consumption of this product are provided. Trade operations with activated carbon are considered, the largest global exporters and importers are identified, and the dynamics of prices for activated carbon in the period 2010-2024 are studied.
This work is a desk study. The following sources of information were used: data from statistical committees of the EAEU countries (including Rosstat, the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus, the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan); international UN databases (UNdata), World Bank, Eurostat; international and European trade data (UN Comtrade, Trade Map); Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation (until 2022); Unified Information System in the Sphere of Procurement; railway transportation statistics; SBIS database; foreign specialized companies; annual and quarterly reports of issuers of securities; industry and regional press, conference materials, Internet sites of enterprises-producers and consumers of the studied products; scientific and technical literature (elibrary, etc.), FIPS patent database; InfoMine database, etc.
The report consists of 8 parts, contains 190 pages, including 69 tables, 29 figures and 3 appendices.
The first chapter of the report is devoted to a brief overview of the world market of activated carbon.
The second chapter describes the technologies of activated carbon production, its properties, provides data on the raw materials used in the production of activated carbon, as well as on the equipment for production.
The third chapter of the report presents data on the volume of activated carbon production in the EAEU in 2001-2024.
The fourth chapter is devoted to the production of activated carbon in Russia, it provides information on the current state of enterprises producing activated carbon - production volumes and characteristics of the products, directions and volumes of supplies, as well as the main financial and economic indicators of the enterprises.
The fifth chapter of the report analyzes data on foreign economic transactions with activated carbon in Russia (2001-2024), Belarus (2004-2024) and Kazakhstan (2005-2024). The main directions and volumes of supplies of this product are determined.
The sixth chapter of the report presents data on the dynamics of domestic prices for activated carbon in Russia in 2010-2025, as well as changes in export-import prices (2001-2024).
The seventh chapter of the report is devoted to the analysis of domestic consumption of activated carbon in the Russian Federation in 2001-2024. It presents the balance of production and consumption of activated carbon, examines the industry structure of consumption, and identifies the largest consumers of this product.
This chapter also presents the balance of consumption of activated carbon in Kazakhstan (2020-2024) and the industry structure of consumption.
The final, eighth chapter of the report provides a forecast for the production and consumption of activated carbon in Russia until 2030.
The Appendices to the report provide archival data on the supply of activated carbon in the period up to 2015, technical characteristics of activated carbons of some Russian manufacturers, as well as contact information for manufacturers and consumers of activated carbon.
The target audience of the study:
- participants in the activated carbon market - manufacturers, consumers, traders;
- potential investors.
The proposed study claims to be a reference guide for marketing departments and decision-makers working in the activated carbon market.
