This review is the eighth edition of the study of the sodium cyanide market in the CIS countries.

Market monitoring has been conducted since 2006.

The purpose of the study is to analyze the Russian and CIS markets for sodium cyanide.

The object of the study is sodium cyanide and its consumption.

This work is a desk study. As sources of information, data from Rosstat, customs statistics of the Russian Federation, statistics of railway transportation of the Russian Federation, the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Statistics, the State Customs Service of Ukraine were used; materials of the US State Geological Survey (USGS), data from the UNdata database, industry and regional press, annual and quarterly reviews of securities issuers, websites of manufacturers and consumers of sodium cyanide were used.

Timeline of the study: 1997-2021; forecast - for 2022-2030.

Research geography: Russian Federation, Republic of Kazakhstan - comprehensive detailed market analysis; Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan - general retrospective analysis of the market.

The study examined the impact on the economy of geopolitical risks, the conflict in Ukraine, sanctions from Western unfriendly countries, as well as the impact of coronavirus and possible consequences.

The review consists of 7 parts, contains 142 pages, including 47 tables, 20 figures and 2 appendices.

The first chapter of the report gives a brief description of the global sodium cyanide market (volume of the world market, major producing countries and companies, export-import of sodium cyanide, prices).

The second chapter of the review provides information about the raw materials needed for the production of sodium cyanide, its characteristics. Also in this chapter, the technology for the production of this reagent is considered in detail. In addition, data on the main suppliers of raw materials, directions and volumes of supplies are given.

The third chapter is devoted to the production of sodium cyanide in the CIS countries. This section of the review provides data on cyanide release volumes in Russia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Georgia. In addition, the qualitative indicators of the products obtained are given, as well as a description of the current activities of all sodium cyanide producers in the post-Soviet space.

The fourth chapter of the review provides data on foreign trade operations with sodium cyanide in Russia for the period 1997-2021. In addition, data on foreign trade operations with the reagent in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Tajikistan, Georgia and Ukraine are presented.

The fifth chapter analyzes data on changes in export-import prices for sodium cyanide in Russia and the CIS countries, and also provides information on the transport and logistics component of the price of sodium cyanide in the Russian Federation.

The sixth chapter considers the consumption of sodium cyanide in Russia and the CIS countries. This section presents the balance of production - consumption of these products, the sectoral structure of consumption, shows the main consumers, and also describes the current state and prospects for the development of the largest consumer enterprises.

The seventh chapter of the review provides a forecast for the development of the Russian cyanide market for the period up to 2030.

The appendices contain contact information of the main enterprises producing and consuming sodium cyanide in the CIS countries.

    Target audience of the study:

    - sodium cyanide market participants - producers, consumers, traders;

    - potential investors.

The proposed study purports to be a reference tool for marketing and decision makers working in the sodium cyanide market.
