    This overview is the first edition of the CIS railroad tires and axle market research.

    The purpose of the study is to analyze the market of railway tires and axles in Russia and Ukraine.

    This work is a "desk" study. Data from the Federal State Statistics Service of the Russian Federation (Rosstat), statistics of railway transportation of the Russian Federation, the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation, and the Customs Committee of Ukraine were used as sources of information. Also involved were data from the industry and regional press, annual and quarterly reports of securities issuers, Internet sites of enterprises producing railway tires and axles, carriage and locomotive building and repair plants.

     

    The first chapter describes the technology for the production of railway tires and axles, sets out the basic requirements for their quality.

    The second chapter is devoted to the production of railway tires and axles in the CIS. It provides a characteristic of the current state of manufacturers of railway spare parts in the CIS, provides data on the types of products, dynamics and production volumes in the period 2016-2020.

    The third chapter examines the foreign trade operations of Russia and Ukraine with railway tires and axles (as well as wheel centers) in 2016-2021. This chapter analyzes data on the volumes and directions of foreign trade operations, identifies the main suppliers and recipients of products.

    The fourth chapter provides information on the dynamics of prices for railway tires and axles in the domestic market of Russia in 2016-2021, and also analyzes data on export-import prices for these products in Russia.

    The fifth chapter is devoted to the consumption of railway tires and axles in Russia, it provides a balance of production and consumption, an analysis of the car-building industry is carried out, and a characteristic of the main consumers of railway tires and axles is given.

    The sixth chapter provides a forecast of production and consumption of railway tires and axles for the period up to 2025.

    The appendix to the report contains contact information for manufacturers of railway tires and axles in Russia and Ukraine, as well as for the largest consumers of products in Russia.
