    This report is the first edition of a study of the market for secondary zinc raw materials in the Russian Federation.

    The purpose of the study is to analyze the market for secondary zinc raw materials in the Russian Federation in order to understand the market situation.

    The objects of study are secondary zinc raw materials - hardzinc, zinc ash, zinc dust from the gas cleaning of zinc production, spent zinc-containing catalysts, lumpy zinc scrap.

    This work is a desk study. As sources of information, data from Rosstat, the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation, Russian Railways, UNdata, industry and regional press, annual and quarterly reports of securities issuers, websites of zinc producers and consumers, scientific and technical literature, the InfoMine database,

    Timeline of the study: Russia 2017-2021, forecast up to 2030

    Study geography: Russian Federation

    Scope of the study: the report consists of 3 parts, contains 83 pages, including 38 tables, 13 figures and 2 appendices.

    The first part of the report is devoted to an overview of the markets for hardzinc and zinc ash. This section provides an assessment of the volumes of formation of these types of secondary zinc raw materials in 2017-2021, lists the main companies producing hardzinc and ash with an assessment of their production, shows the volumes, migration of exports and imports of these products from 2017 to 2021, and analyzes world and Russian export-import prices. This part also reflects the balance and sectoral structure of the market for these products, identifies processing companies for hardzinc and ash, their requirements for purchased products, as well as factors influencing the formation of prices for secondary zinc raw materials. In addition, this chapter provides a forecast for the development of the market for these products until 2030.

    The second part of the report is devoted to an overview of the zinc-containing gas treatment dust market for steel mills. This section provides an estimate of the volumes of zinc dust generation in 2017-2021, identifies the main zinc dust producing companies, assesses the volume of dust consumption by processors, describes existing and prospective methods for processing zinc-containing dust, and assesses the possibilities and prospects for its export.

    The third part of the report provides an overview of the markets for other secondary zinc raw materials, in particular spent zinc-containing catalysts and lump zinc scrap.

    In conclusion, the main conclusions of this study are given.

    The appendices contain contact information of Russian companies-consumers of secondary zinc raw materials and Russian metallurgical companies.

    Target audience of the study:

    - zinc market participants - producers, consumers, traders;

    - potential investors.

    The proposed study claims to be a reference tool for marketing services and management decision makers working in the secondary zinc market.
