This report is the sixth edition of the talc market research in the CIS countries.
Market monitoring has been carried out since 1995.
The purpose of the study is to analyze the talc market - world, Russian and CIS countries, as well as its use in the production of roll roofing materials, paint and varnish and other industries.
The object of research is talc - talc and microtalc for the cable industry, microtalc for the paint and varnish and pencil industries, ground talc for the production of rubber products and plastics, for the ceramic industry, talcite and talcomagnesite.
This work is a desk research. Data from the statistical committees of the EAEU countries (including Rosstat, the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus, the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan) were used as sources of information; UN international databases (UNdata), World Bank, Eurostat; international and European trade data (UN Comtrade, Trade Map); Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation (until 2022); Unified information system in the field of procurement; railway transport statistics; VLSI databases; foreign specialized companies; annual and quarterly reports of securities issuers; industry and regional press, conference materials, Internet sites of manufacturing enterprises and consumers of the products under study; scientific and technical literature (elibrary, etc.), FIPS patent database; InfoMine database, etc.
Chronological scope of the study: 1995-2023; forecast – 2024-2030
Geography of the study: Russian Federation – comprehensive detailed market analysis; Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan – general retrospective market analysis; rest of the world - general information about market dynamics and characteristics.
The report consists of 7 parts, contains 220 pages, including 79 tables, 37 figures, and 5 appendices.
The first chapter provides a brief description of the global talc market (reserves, production, production, producing countries, prices).
The second chapter provides information about the mineral resource base of talc in the CIS countries, the structure of reserves and the characteristics of the main deposits.
The third chapter is devoted to the extraction and production of talc in the CIS countries in 1990-2023. In addition, the requirements for the quality of talcs of various grades are given here and the technologies used in the enrichment of talc ores of various compositions are described. Also in the third chapter, the current state of the main talc producers in the Russian Federation is described, the quantitative and qualitative characteristics of the products, production volumes, domestic and export supplies of talc by each enterprise are given.
The fourth chapter provides data on foreign trade operations with talc in the Russian Federation (for the period 1998-2023), in Ukraine (2005-2023) and in other CIS countries (2005-2023).
The fifth chapter is devoted to domestic and export-import prices for talc in the CIS in 1999-2023.
The sixth chapter examines talc consumption in Russia in 1997-2023. This section shows the balance of production and consumption of these products, the industry structure of consumption, the main consumers, as well as the current state and development prospects of the largest consumer enterprises.
The seventh chapter provides a forecast for the development of the Russian talc market for the period until 2030.
The appendices provide address and contact information of the main enterprises producing and consuming talc, and technical characteristics of talc products from individual manufacturers.
Target audience of the study:
– participants in the talc market and its further consumption chains – producers, consumers, traders;
– potential investors.
The proposed study claims to be a reference guide for marketing services and specialists making management decisions working in the talc products market.
