This report is the eighth edition of the market research on chrysotile asbestos and chrysotile cement products in Russia and the CIS countries.
Market monitoring has been carried out since June 2004.
The purpose of the study is to analyze the global, Russian and CIS markets for chrysotile asbestos, as well as its processing chains in the asbestos-cement industry.
The object of the study is chrysotile asbestos and products of its further consumption chains (slate, chrysotile cement sheets, pipes and couplings).
The work is a desk research. Data from Rosstat, the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation, railway transportation statistics, the Statistics Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the State Customs Service of Ukraine were used as information sources; materials from the United States Geological Survey (USGS), data from UNdata, industry and regional press, annual and quarterly reports of securities issuers, as well as Internet sites of manufacturers of asbestos and asbestos-cement products were used.
Chronological scope of the study: 1997-2023; forecast – 2024-2030
Geography of the study: Russian Federation, Republic of Kazakhstan - comprehensive detailed market analysis; Armenia, Belarus, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan - general retrospective market analysis; rest of the world - general information about market dynamics and characteristics.
The report consists of 9 parts, contains 169 pages, including 41 figures, 59 tables and 2 appendices.
The first chapter of the report provides a brief description of the global asbestos market in 2003-2023. (reserves, production, production, producing countries, prices).
The second chapter of the report provides information on the mineral resource base of chrysotile asbestos in the CIS countries, the structure of reserves and the characteristics of the main deposits. Deposits of chrysotile asbestos in the CIS countries and their reserves are described, and a map of the location of the largest chrysotile asbestos deposits in the CIS is also presented.
The third chapter of the report is devoted to the extraction and production of chrysotile asbestos in the CIS countries in 1995-2023. In addition, it provides quality requirements for various grades of asbestos and describes the production technologies of chrysotile asbestos.
The fourth chapter of the report describes the current state of the main enterprises producing chrysotile asbestos in the CIS countries, and provides quantitative and qualitative characteristics of the products produced at each enterprise.
The fifth chapter of the report provides data on foreign trade transactions with chrysotile asbestos in the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan (for the period 1997-2023), in other CIS countries (2003-2022).
The sixth chapter is devoted to a review of prices for Russian chrysotile asbestos in 1998-2023; in addition to domestic prices, it contains prices for Russian-made asbestos-containing products on the foreign market.
The seventh chapter of the report examines the consumption of chrysotile asbestos in Russia in 1997-2023. This section provides the balance of production and consumption of these products, the industry structure of consumption, the main consumers, as well as the current state and development prospects of the largest consumer enterprises.
The eighth chapter of the report examines the consumption of chrysotile asbestos in Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Belarus, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
The ninth chapter of the report provides a forecast for the development of the Russian chrysotile asbestos market for the period until 2030.
The appendices provide address and contact information of the main enterprises producing and consuming chrysotile asbestos in Russia and the CIS countries.
Target audience of the study:
- participants in the chrysotile asbestos market and its further consumption chains (ACC) - manufacturers, consumers, traders;
- potential investors.
The proposed study claims to be a reference guide for marketing services and specialists making management decisions working in the market of chrysotile-asbestos and chrysotile cement products.
