This report is the first publication of market research of direct reduced iron (DRI).
The purpose of research – market analysis of direct reduced iron in the CIS and China, which covers the period 2007-2015
A feature of this report is a detailed analysis of the production of DRI in Russia, reporting about the main processes for producing DRI.
The object of study is directly reduced iron.
This work is a Desk study. As information sources, data of Federal service of state statistics of Russia (Rosstat), statistics of rail transportation of the Russian Federation, Federal customs service of the Russian Federation; UN databases, databases "INFOMINE", the data "Midrex" Also, data of sectoral and regional press, annual and quarterly reports of emitters of securities, Internet-sites of companies producing and consuming DRI.
The chronological scope of the study: 2007-2015
Geography of research: World, Russia, China, CIS.
The volume of research: report consists of 10 sections, contains 78 pages, including 16 tables, 20 figures and 2 appendices.
The first Chapter is devoted to the analysis of the current state of the production of direct reduced iron and separate the major processes of its release, the product form. The Chapter briefly presents the main directions of development of production technology of DRI.
The second Chapter contains description of the main processes for the production of DRI, in particular, Midrex and HYL. In addition the characteristics of the technology of production of the recovered iron by liquid-phase reduction processes and "hybrid" process.
The third Chapter is devoted to analysis of production of DRI in the world in basic technological processes and countries in 2007-2015 the main regions and countries for the production of DRI.
The fourth Chapter presents the role of the CIS and China in the global production of DRI. It is shown that Russia is one of the leading countries in proizvodstvai supply GD: on the world market.
In the fifth Chapter of the study presents data about new construction projects of DRI plants in the world, the development plans for the production of metallized raw materials in Iran and India for the period up to 2025
The sixth Chapter analyzes data by matching the content of direct reduced iron with a high content of copper and manganese in the CIS and China.
In the seventh Chapter analyzes the foreign trade of DRI in the CIS countries and China. It was revealed that Russia is one of the leading suppliers of DRI to the world market, occupying more than 40% market share of HBI.
In the eighth Chapter analyzes the possibilities of implementing the DRI with a high content of copper and search for potential consumers.
In the ninth Chapter of the study analyzed the prices of DRI in the world and the possible price of similar quality direct reduced iron with a high content of copper and manganese.
In the tenth Chapter analyzes the barriers to market entry and DRI recommendations for a new player.
In Appendix presents contact information on participants in the market, DRI, iron and steel enterprises of the CIS with experience in the use of metallized raw materials for steel production.
