    This report is the twelfth edition of the market research of soda ash (sodium carbonate) in the CIS countries.

    The market has been monitored since August 1996.

    The purpose of the study is to analyze Russian and CIS markets of soda ash.

    The object of the study is soda ash and its consumption.

    This work is a desk study. As sources of information, we used data from the Federal State Statistics Service, the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation, the official statistics on rail transportation of JSCo Russian Railways, the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Statistics, and the State Customs Service of Ukraine; The materials of the US State Geological Service (USGS), data from the UNdata database, industry and regional press, annual and quarterly reports of securities issuers, Internet sites of enterprises producing soda ash, as well as data obtained from phone interviews of employees of consumer companies of the reagent.

    Chronological framework of the study: 1999-2017; forecast - 2018-2025.

    Geography of the survey: Russian Federation, Republic of Kazakhstan, Ukraine - comprehensive detailed market analysis; Armenia, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan - a general retrospective analysis of the market; the rest of the world - general information about the dynamics and characteristics of the market.

    The report consists of 7 parts, contains 223 pages, including 39 figures, 81 tables and 2 annexes.

    The first chapter of the report gives a brief description of the world market of sodium carbonate (natural soda reserves, production, prices, export-import of soda ash).

    In the second chapter of the report, information is provided on the raw materials required for the production of soda ash, its characteristics. Also in this chapter, the technology of sodium carbonate production is discussed in detail. In addition, the data on the main suppliers of raw materials, directions and volumes of supplies are given.

    The third chapter of the review is devoted to the production of soda ash in the CIS countries. This section provides statistical data on the volumes of soda production in Russia, Ukraine and Uzbekistan (1999-2018). In addition, the qualitative indicators of the products are given.

    The fourth chapter provides data on foreign trade operations with soda ash in Russia for the period 1998-2017 and in Ukraine for the period 1999-2017. In addition, data on imports of soda into Belarus, Kazakhstan and other CIS countries (2004-2017) are presented.

    The fifth chapter provides information on the level of prices for various brands of soda in the domestic Russian market (1999-2017). In addition, the data on changes in export-import prices for soda ash in Russia and Ukraine (1999-2017) are analyzed.

    The sixth chapter considers the consumption of soda ash in Russia and Ukraine. This section shows the balance of production - consumption of these products, the sectoral structure of consumption, the main consumers, as well as the current status and prospects for the development of the largest consumer enterprises.

    The seventh chapter provides a forecast for the development of the market of soda ash in Russia (production and consumption) for the period up to 2025.

    The annexes provide targeted and contact information for the main enterprises that produce and consume soda ash in the CIS countries.

    The target audience of the study:

    - participants of the market of soda ash - producers, consumers, traders;

    - potential investors.

    The proposed study claims to be a reference tool for marketing services and specialists who make managerial decisions on the market of soda ash.
